Holme Moss from Holmbridge

This Pedal Stop killer climb is 5km long.

We rode this on the 6th of August 2011, it's a pretty local ride to us. First time I've ever been up and its been windless. We always stop for lunch or coffee in the Penny Lane cafe before tackling this. The beginning of the climb is the steepest section but flattens out very soon. Nice and gentle upto the village but soon after it does ramp up a little. From the steep right hander you can pretty much see all the way to the top. The top sections are usually very windy, we have had riders blown onto the barriers in the past.

The view from the top is pretty special, there is a car park so you can get off the road and catch your breath and enjoy an icecream! If you continue over the top you have a stunning descent down to Woodhead reservoir. I think its probably a steeper climb coming from Woodhead but you tend to get the wind behind you which makes a massive difference.
