Bradfield Reservoir's

This Pedal Stop cycle route is 14 miles long and takes in the four
local reservoirs, Damflask, Agden, Dale Dyke (cause of the great
Sheffield flood) and Strines. Starting at Damflask the route climbs
to High Bradfield. There is a slight dip in the road as you pass the
Horns pub and Bradfield church before climbing steeply up Brown House Lane

As the road flattens slightly you will see on your left Agden, Dale Dyke
and Strines reservoir's.Follow this rather bumpy road to the next junction
and turn left onto Mortimer Road and descend steeply into the valley. This
road is normally quiet but narrow and when the trees are in leaf it is
difficult to spot oncoming traffic. The road on the climb up the valley
is badly cracked.

The gradient for the next few miles is more favourable as the route goes
through a forested area before again descending into the valley and accross
a bridge which is often covered in loose gravel. The climb up the valley
is short and not as steep as the last, bringing you out at the 13th century
Strines Inn. Watch out for the peacocks as you pass. Continue for a few miles
before taking the next available left onto Sugworth Road, this turn is often
covered with gravel. This road gives you a great view of Bradfield and Boot's Folly,
the tower built in the 1927 depression by Charles Boot to help the out of work.

Take the second available left turn to begin your descent to Damflask passing on your right the larma field.

Those wishing refreshments can take the next available left turn to descend steeply to the Plought public house on the first right, or
continue over the bridge by the cricket pitch to Postcard Cafe.

Continue down to Damflask turning right at the junction then follow the reservoir
to finish the route.

Public toilets can be found just up from the tennis courts near the cricket pitch
