Uncle Geoff's Diner
Uncle Geoff’s Diner
Over Haddon Bakewell Derbyshire DE45 1JE UK
The Jewel in the crown of Peak District cafes. Uncle Geoff has been feeding cyclists since the beginning of time! Not the biggest café in the world so not a place to take a cycling club. The café is set in what would appear to be a front room. If there are already a few people inside when you arrive you will most probably be asked to leave! The menu is pretty large but no matter what you order you will probably get the brunch (with chips!)

Not the easiest café in the area to find but well worth the effort to eat in this rather surreal environment (notice the stuffed cat in the cake display area!) No on sight toilets (the nearest are a ride down the hill) but the food is lovely and filter coffee is marvellous.
From here you can continue into the Peak District or make your way back through Bakewell. Be sure to use the cash machines in Bakewell if you have no ready cash as Geoff will most certainly not take plastic. The diner opens at 11am and is a favourite with walkers and cyclists alike.
